Read the set of related affirmations in this post aloud. It’s important to your conscious and subconscious mind to hear the affirmations said in your own voice. Choose one or two of the affirmations from the set to start working with. You only need one or two affirmations, used consistently, to make a substantial change in your life.

Affirmations are most effective when said aloud. Studies have proven that it’s impossible to think a negative thought and make a positive statement aloud at the same time. Use this principle to halt negative thoughts in their tracks and turn them around.

Say your chosen affirmation loud enough for your mind to hear your voice saying the words and take notice of how you feel as you begin and as you continue your practice. Feeling better? Repeat your chosen affirmation at least twice a day – morning, and night – for at least 30 days, and reinforce your affirmation by writing it in your journal.

Affirmations are powerful, positive sentences that can change your mindset. Don’t focus on challenges and lack, but on healthy self-esteem and unshakeable self-confidence. You can leverage the power of affirmations in your life by beginning an affirmation practice – using one or two favorite affirmations over the course of 30 to 60 days to permanently change your mindset and by extension, your life.

Believing in yourself might seem like an easy, no-questions thing to do, but so many of us perfectly imperfect human beings have a hard time accomplishing this “easy” task.

To believe in yourself is to be confident that you can accomplish what you set your mind to do. It’s having a positive impression of your own abilities, and that you can take action to achieve the desired outcome, and that the outcome WILL occur. If you don’t have a strong sense of belief in yourself and your abilities, you’ll struggle to achieve positive results on a daily basis. Doubting your strengths and your intelligence won’t help you make progress toward the life you want, let alone the life you dream of.

Everyone has strengths and weaknesses, and what you focus on will get stronger. If you focus on your strengths – on recognizing them and building them up using the affirmations in this post – you’ll literally “talk” yourself into a better frame of mind and being. That’s not to say that the affirmations by themselves will work some kind of “magic” on your situation, but they can certainly open the door to a more positive resolution in your mind,

The power of positive speech is well documented – studies have shown that children who are repeatedly told that they cannot accomplish a task will struggle with it no matter how much experience they might have. Negative reinforcement can be a powerful force that prevents you from achieving your goals.

When you turn your mindset around – by consistently using affirmations over a period of 30 to 60 days to change your thoughts from negative or neutral to positive and self-affirming – you’ll build up a powerful and positive belief in yourself. That belief then is more easily translated into action – moving you forward toward the accomplishment of your goals.

Check out the affirmations below and read through them out loud. Notice which ones resonate with you the quickest, and notice also which ones encourage a feeling of “I’ll never be able to do that” or “That’s beyond me” or “That’s not the truth of who I am.” Choose one or two affirmations specifically for their effect on you. The one you more easily accept can be the one that starts adding to your belief in yourself, and the one that gives you the heebie-jeebies is likely to be the one you’ll have to stretch and work harder to grow into. Don’t go too easy on yourself – give yourself the option to stretch and grow into an affirmation that feels “too big” for you right now. Try working with the affirmation for at least 30 days and see how you feel after being consistent with it.

In 30 days, you’ll be 30 days older – the question is, will you use the next 30 days to become more self-confident and also be stronger, or will you simply be 30 days older?
